Randy Hill and Dean Reeves, original stakeholders in the Pegasus World Cup Invitational at Gulfstream Park, are back this year with one of the most interesting entries in Toast Of New York.

Unraced for three years, Toast Of New York returned to the races with a victory Dec. 6 in England. Hill and Reeves, who finished eighth in last year’s inaugural Pegasus with Breaking Lucky, worked out a deal with Al Shaqab Racing to run the 7-year-old in the Pegasus.

“I went to look at his [past performances] and looked back at what he did, and I said, ‘I don’t know Dean, anybody can dream right?“ Hill recalled.

“This horse is training well, he’s got talent and you’ve got to believe,” Reeves said. “Sometimes you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, but you’ve got to believe it’s there.”
