The UK’s Doncaster Racecourse plays host to the Goffs Breeze-Up Sale, a reliable source of Royal Ascot runners (and winners).

British breeze-ups continue as traders decamp to Doncaster, where the Goffs breeze is on Tuesday and auctioneers take to the rostrum on Wednesday.
The sale is billed as the ‘Royal Ascot two-year-old sale’ and it certainly has a decent success rate at the meeting, with 11 wins from its graduates over the last ten or so years.
Light Infantry Man, who graduated from the sale in 2021, has given the sale success down under, winning last month’s Australian Cup at Flemington.
Prospective Royal Ascot runners can be purchased out of the box, ready to run at one of the world’s greatest racing events in less than two months’ time.

Mehmas, Havana Grey, Starman and Blue Point are among the best represented sires in the catalogue, with Mehmas responsible for such two-year-olds as Lot 21, a colt out of the Group 3-winning Shaden.
Havana Grey’s offerings include Lot 24, a Greenhills Farm-consigned colt out of the Listed winner and Premio Elena e Sergio Cumani-placed Silberpfeil and Blue Point has sired such entries as Lot 192, a Blue Point filly out of a half-sister to the Natalma Stakes heroine Capla Temptress.
Kilminfoyle House Stud consign the likes of Starman’s Lot 208, a colt out of a half-sister to the prolific Group 3 winner and Lockinge-placed Mac Love, as well as Lot 43, a Lope De Vega half-brother to the Listed winner and Commonwealth Cup-placed Flaming Rib.
No Nay Never has sired Lot 108, a Tradewinds-consigned colt out of the Prix Signy heroine Big Brothers Pride, a half-sister to the Prix Maurice de Gheest winner Polydream, and Night Of Thunder is behind two lots on sale, including Lot 126, a filly out of the Group 3-placed Dean Street Doll, a half-sister to the Prix de Royallieu-winning Sea La Rosa.
Other lots of interest include:
Lot 147, a Kingman colt whose dual Group 2-winning second dam is a half-sister to the Oaks heroine Love.
Lot 203, a Good Magic half-sister to the multiple Grade 3 winner and Grade 1-placed Terra Promessa.
Lot 233, a Mehmas half-brother to the Mill Reef Stakes-winning sire Kessaar.
Trade begins at 10am on Wednesday with the breeze at 8:30am on Tuesday.
