Magic Millions heads back down south, with Adelaide hosting a two-day offering.

Just over a week since the Adelaide Cup was run on its turf, on the other side of the Morphettville racecourse rails a little over 400 catalogued lots are set to strut their stuff across the two-day Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale.
Private Eye, Hong Kong’s Galaxy Patch and Asfoora, Aussie-turned-European sprinter, are all graduates of a sale that pulls the bloodstock spotlight towards South Australia.
Responsible for one of the sale’s largest drafts, among Baramul offerings are Lot 45, a St Mark’s Basilica colt out of the Group 3-placed and Group 1 fourth Slow The Flow, and Lot 346, a colt by Best Of Bordeaux from the family of the multiple Group 1 winner River Special.
Mill Park also send a large slate of yearlings, its offerings featuring the likes of Lot 51, a Russian Revolution colt out of the Adelaide Guineas heroine So We Are, and Lot 424, a filly by Pinatubo out of a half-sister to the Danehill Stakes winner Dalasan.
While Lot 424 is Pinatubo’s only representative, Lot 51 is far from the only lot by Russian Revolution, with the Newgate’s stallion’s other progeny on offer including Lot 194, the half-sister to a Listed winner.
Plenty of lots can call D’Argento of Bowness Stud their father, including Lot 70, a colt by the winning Terminally Pretty, whose dam Moon De French won a Listed race and was placed at Group 1 level.
The catalogue, however, features progeny by over 100 stallions, about 15 of whom are from the freshman ranks. That helps deliver plenty of diversity, an incentive for buyers to complement the fact that all yearlings on sale are eligible to be nominated to the A$20m-plus Magic Millions Race Series.
Other lots of interest include:
Lot 22, a Justify filly out of the lightly-raced Salutadeel, a full-sister to the sire Super Seth.
Lot 211, a filly out of a half-sister to the dam of the Champagne Stakes winner Go Indy Go.
Lot 341, a half-sister to the Kilmore Cup victor Hi Stranger.
Trade begins at 10am on Thursday.
