Deauville’s sales ring is being dusted off for its first offering of the year.

The bit-of-everything February sales keep coming.
Now it’s ARQANA’s turn, with over 300 lots set to go through its Deauville ring over a two-day offering, which encompasses everything from mares and yearlings to stores, two-year-olds and horses in training.
The sale also features the dispersal of stock from the estate of Franck Leblanc, those lots including Lot 282, believed in foal to Beaumec De Houelle, Lot 289, in foal to Leon Du Berlais, Lot 292, in foal to Moises Has and Lots 285 and 293, both believed in foal to Nirvana Du Berlais.
The sale’s opening day will be given over to lots in the breeding stock section, with lots consigned by the likes of Al Shaqab, Wertheimer et Frère and the Aga Khan Studs, as well as yearlings, some of whom arrive as part of continued Al Shahania dispersals.
Stallion shares will also be offered on day one, including shares, through sealed bids, in Kendargent and Muhaarar.
The eclectic sale, filled out by a number of wildcards, features such entries as Chiaraniya (Lot 9), who has been placed in a couple of Listed contests and is offered as a horse in training by the Fairway Consignment.
It also includes Lot 31, Blumenfee. The dam of a Listed winner, she’s a Listed winner herself and will be presented in foal to Palace Pier.
Celebrite (Lot 99), a three-year-old unraced filly out of training, is also set to go under the hammer. By Camelot, she’s a half-sister to Touristic, successful at black type level in Australia, and is out of the winner and Poule d’Essai des Pouliches-placed Heuristique.
For jumping traders, there’s also the opportunity to snap up such horses as Lots 90 and 9. Both are Listed winners and the latter is Grade 3 placed to boot.
Other lots of interest include:
Lot 188, offered out of training, the unraced three-year-old Palencia Queen, half-sister to Siege Of Boston, a multiple winner and North American Graded-placed performer. Their dam is the Prix de Pomone winner Penture Rare and this is the family of Peintre Celebre.
Lot 212, Hosaka, another filly offered out of training. The half-sister to a Listed winner, she’s out of Rjwa, placed in both the Prix de Diane and the Prix Saint-Alary.
Lot 345, a wildcard entry, the Listed winner Believer.
Trade begins at 11am on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
