The best top-level action around the world last week came at Arlington Park and Saratoga, with a number of significant movers in the TRC Global Rankings as a result.

Jockey of the week was Irad Ortiz Jr (+3pts, #18 from #20) who rode three winners, two at Arlington Park and one at Saratoga. The highlight was G1 Arlington Million winner Robert Bruce.

Top-notch John Velazquez (+2pts, #22 from #24) rode two G1 winners at Arlington Park - the Beverley D (on Sistercharlie) and the Secretariat (on Carrick). It was a good day for the home team in the major U.S. fixture of the week, with all the European raiders readily eclipsed.

Eclipser-in-chief was Chad Brown (+2pts, stays #4), who rests behind only Bob Baffert in the rankings of U.S. trainers. He bolstered that position with a pair of G1 wins at Arlington, the Beverley D (in which he completed the trifecta) with Sistercharlie and the Arlington Million (in which he filled the exacta) with Robert Bruce.

First appearance

Owner Saif Ali enters the rankings for the first time at #197 after a great week. Horses in the yellow-and-black silks annexed a pair of G3s: Worth Waiting in the Prix Minerve at Deauville and Main Edition in the Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket.

Johnston maintains the momentum

As British trainer Mark Johnston (+4pts, #64 from #71) approaches the record for the number of domestic winners at all levels, his Group winners continue to flow too. The hulking filly Main Edition was the latest, striding clear to win the G3 Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket.

Teofilo on the move

Teofilo (+5pts, #20 from #26) is one of the major movers of the week among sires. He authored a brace of international G3 winners: Highland Peak in the Elm Stakes at Sapporo, Japan, and Teodoro in the Rose of Lancaster Stakes at Haydock Park, England.
